My Red-tailed Hawks and other wildlife observations from around Brooklyn and NYC
As relatively late breeders, flocks of Cedar Waxwings have just begun appearing in our city parks. Listen for their high-pitched, whistling call and look for them feeding within Black Cherry trees and other fruiting trees and shrubs.
These amazing birds and their kabuki drama are really helping me deal with the absence of warblers today- didn't see a single one but the Cedar Waxwings were all over.
