Friday's Foto

The tiny House Wren nests in cavities, natural and man-made, in Green-Wood Cemetery and through out NYC. Their genus name, Troglodytes, means "cave dweller". Listen for their rich bubbly song throughout the day during the breeding season. Weighing in at a mere 10 to 12 g, most will migrate to the extreme southern parts of North America, as well as, Mexico to spend the winter.
