Breeding in the high Arctic, from Scandinavia, Iceland and parts of northern Scotland, through Russia and Siberia, to Alaska, Canada and Greenland, the Snow Bunting's Winter range includes coastal New York City. In Brooklyn during the Winter months look for flocks of this beautiful bird of the longspur family at Coney Island Creek, Plum Beach, Marine Park, Floyd Bennett Field and Dead Horse Bay.
