Coney Island Mermaid Parade

This is not my typical nature oriented blog posting, but today was an important event.

Today Coney Island held the first Mermaid Parade since 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic had shutdown this annual Mardi Gras-like celebration, but today it finally returned! Here are several pics and one video that I took today while enjoying the festivities from my perch at Paul's Daughter on the boardwalk:
