Friday's Foto


I watched this Chinese Mantis in Green-Wood Cemetery successfully fight off a Hermit Thrush who was attempting to eat it. Often called "Praying Mantis" this species was introduced to North America to control pest insects. Read more about mantids on BugGuide here.
