Hello Mr.Jett,
This is Archer, of recent trip to Pelham Bay for owls. Thanks for the trip!
I'm posting a comment here because I didn't know how else to reach you, but I saw a film last night that might be of interest to yourself and your readers. There were only two people in the theater, including myself, so I figured I should try to get the word out.
It's called "The Day of the Sparrow (Der Tag des Spatzen) and it's really beautiful, both in concept and execution. Although it is not completely about birds, they take up a large part of the narrative and screen time. The way the director seamlessly ties together the story about German participation in Afghanistan and our awareness of the natural environment (through birds) is well done and philosophically resonant. It's a slow, contemplative film, which is not for everyone, but I highly enjoyed it.

Didn't think this was appropriate for the listserv, but let me know if you think I should post up elsewhere.
Hope to see you again soon, always enjoy your trips.
