Over the last week migrating Eastern Bluebirds have begun appearing in our local parks. This state bird of New York has experienced serious population declines but organizations such as the New York State Bluebird Society have been helping through various conservation efforts. Look for bluebirds right now at the edges of meadows, especially where there are fruiting trees and shrubs nearby.
