Friday's Foto

Having spent most of September ambling around coastal Brooklyn, I ran into plenty of these scary looking fellows. I've always just known them as "fiddler crabs", but recently learned that there are around 100 species of crabs in the genus Uca that go by this name. The ones we see around New York marshes are Atlantic Marsh Fiddler Crabs.
