Cruickshank learned their craft on Van Cortlandt Park's ecologically diverse grounds, and these walks celebrate the tradition set by them. Participants will look for resident and migrant species and discuss a wide range of avian topics.

During a one and a half mile hike through the woodlands of Long Pond Park we will look for evidence of the geologic history and human influence on the park as well as observe the wildlife of the park. Meet at PS 6, on Page Avenue and Academy Avenue three blocks northwest of Hylan Boulevard.

Cherry Blooming Time at Silver Lake
The park is loveliest in the spring. Let’s identify what trees are blooming and see what birds and insects are about. Meet at Silver Lake Park Road and Forest Avenue for a walk across the lake bridge to the trails above.
If it’s raining at the time of the walk, the event is postponed to Sunday, April 14, same time. Dress appropriately.
