Friday's Foto
I haven't posted any butterfly photos in a while and thought this recent Zabulon Skipper was a keeper. Skippers are difficult for me to identify, primarily, because they are very small and tend to move quickly and erratically. There is also a large group that are subtle variations of orange and browns. I sometimes think of them as the "peeps" of the butterfly world. Local naturalist Don Riepe while leading trips is known for saying (with tongue firmly in cheek), "Skip the skippers".
