Protectors of Pine Oak Woods
A Southern LaTourette Loop
Saturday, January 14, 2023, 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Leader: Don Recklies
Description: A Southern LaTourette Loop — We’ll meet at the entrance to the “bike path” beside the old Saint Andrew’s Church (at the Old Mill Road and Richmond Hill Road). We will make a loop following the trail downhill and left of the bike path, then return by the Blue Trail uphill of the bike path. Note that the downhill path on the return to the parking lot might be hazardous if there is ice and snow. The low trail is unique: there are some ruins, a pine grove, and views of Brookfield Park across Richmond Marsh. The upper Blue Trail passes the site of the Revolutionary War British Redoubts and the Hessian Spring.
Registration: For information call Don Recklies at (718) 768-9036.
