This Baltimore Oriole is being an attentive father, bringing food to the nestlings and removing their fecal sacs at a nest in Green-Wood Cemetery. A common breeding species around Brooklyn and the rest of New York City, they begin their southbound migration as early as late-July. They overwinter in Florida, the Caribbean, Central America, and the northern tip of South America. Listen for the male's rich, flute-like whistles and chattering calls.
