Friday's Foto
During the month of March some waterfowl species begin migrating through our area as they head North. The Hooded Merganser is one of those species, although Brooklyn's Prospect Lake has had an unusually large flock of over 20 spend the Winter. Most of the males in the flock have begun courting the females. Look for them stretching their necks out and fanning their impressive black and white crowns. Listen for their amusing frog-like calls.
