Unlike the
Boat-tailed Grackle's woodland seeking cousins, the Common Grackle, these birds are strictly coastal. They can be found breeding in Brooklyn at Plum Beach and Gerritsen Creek. They have an interesting, non-melodic vocalizations such that I wouldn't want to find myself living adjacent to a boat-tailed roost. Take a listen:
