Named for the leaf's similarity in color and pattern to certain trout species, the
Trout Lily is currently blooming around our city parks. You'll have to know where to look, however, as they aren't as obvious as tulips and daffodils. Found in moist woodlands with rich soil, they can been seen during their brief bloom in the native floral section of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, as well as, a little known piece of forest in Prospect Park near the carousel.
