Friday's Foto

American Woodcocks are early Spring migrants around the NYC area. These odd little chunky birds, also known as timberdoodle, Labrador twister, mud bat, night partridge and bog sucker, use their cryptic plumage to virtually disappear in leaf litter. Best known for their courtship "Sky Dance", they can be found breeding near wet meadows in several locations around the five boroughs.
