This week is the start of the Christmas Bird Count period, so rather than list the weekly upcoming trips I've provided information on where and when to participate.
The Christmas Bird Count, begun by Frank Chapman in 1900, has grown to become the largest wildlife survey on the planet. He began with a group of just 27 people covering only a few areas, but by last year it had expanded to 2215 counts and tens of thousands of participants - a new record.
