Throughout NYC's five boroughs, juvenile
Red-tailed Hawks have left their nests and are exploring their territory. Some are starting to learn to hunt. This very young hawk in Green-Wood Cemetery is easily differentiated from the adults by his buffy breast and long, banded tail.
