Friday's Foto

Several species of flycatchers are now migrating through our city parks. One species, the Eastern Kingbird, is a common species that nests throughout New York City. These noisy, aggressive birds are usually found around the edges of fields. This individual was photographed at Nelly's Lawn in Prospect Park, hawking for insects from a low, temporary fence. They are frequently heard well before they are seen .
