I just received the following information about butterfly and dragonfly identification:
Invitation to NABA's June 2 meeting: Ed Lam, guest speaker
In 2006, Ed Lam was contracted to produce a dragonfly guide for The Peterson Field Guide Series. Ed will be doing an overview of dragonfly identification at the next New York North American Butterfly Association (NABA) meeting on June 2 at 7:30 pm (use the link below for directions). This will be a great opportunity to learn about dragonflies and/or to brush up on your ID skills for upcoming summer fieldtrips.
Wednesday, June 2, 2010
Speaker: Ed Lam
Subject: Dragonfly Watching in and around NYC
The talk, with slides and illustrations, will be a primer on basic identification and dragonfly biology. It will focus primarily on species local to our area. Ed Lam is the author and illustrator of the definitive guide, Damselflies of the Northeast and the upcoming Peterson Guide to North American Dragonflies.
Directions to the meeting location in Central Park:
