Friday's Foto

White-winged Crossbills are still being seen around Brooklyn and the rest of New York City. Sweetgum seeds appear to be their main source of food. As the season progresses the sweetgum trees have begun dropping the seed-bearing balls and these Winter finches are forced to forage for the seeds on the ground.
